MY MISSION.

If I could solve one problem in the world, what would it be?

First and foremost, I would solve the dramatically devastating issue of climate change across our modern world. This ties beautifully into favorite song, “Fallen Fruit” by Lorde, a plea to help stop the beast of climate change before it is too late, describes the idea of my concern quite vigilantly. The song describes us dancing on the fallen fruit, to which the fruit had fallen from climate change ravaging our world. Lorde cries, “We had no idea the dreams we had were far too big” and, “How could I love what I know I am going to lose, don’t make me choose,” to which I simply melted to the floor in awe of the realization upon hearing the line for the first time, as we really are running out of time to pivot and correct our wrongdoings and pollution devastations regarding climate change.

Ever since I learned the word 'biodegradable' in 3rd grade, I have been fascinated with the environment and saving our beautiful planet. While interning for Earth Friendly Products, a company that is built off of creating environmentally sustainable cleaning products, I had the opportunity to develop products as the Research and Development Assistant Chemist primarily based on sustainability. Below, Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, President and CEO of ECOS, describes my impact on the companies product development, and how my endless drive to better our environment one formula at a time translated into my achievements while interning.
